(VIDEO) TMs King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium Visit the 36th Edition of the Floraliën Gent.

On Thursday, April 28, 2022, Their Majesties King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium visited the 36th Edition of the Floraliën Gent Flower Show in Gent.

According to the Floraliën Gent official website, the theme of this year’s show is, My Paradise, My Worldly Garden:

“In our modern society people increasingly go looking for quiet, peace, their inner selves, and their own personal paradise. That paradise is different for everyone. For some it’s a plant-filled living room, for others it’s green space in the city, a park, a nature reserve, or maybe their own backyard.

This edition of the Floraliën Gent chimes with the Van Eyck year 2020-2021. The Ghent Altarpiece by the Van Eyck brothers and an image of bishop Triest’s garden are the starting point and source of inspiration for “My Paradise, a Global Garden”. The flower exhibition portrays the migration of flowers and plants. It also draws the visitors’ attention to the past and the present of Gent; still a green, liveable and malleable city.”

Floraliën Gent Flower Show will open to the public from April 29 to May 8, 2022. For more information about the show please click here.
