On Saturday, April 23, 2022, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco attended the 2022 Euroflora Flower Show in the Parks of Nervi in Genoa, Italy.
The Euroflora Flower Show features 300 leading florists and nursery gardeners from all over the world who have created over 90 gardens, settings, and installations across the over eight hectares of the parks Parco Gropallo, Parco Serra, and Parco Grimaldi.
In 1966, Their Serene Highnesses Prince Rainier III and Princess Grace of Monaco attended the 1st Edition of the Euroflora Flower Show. In 1971, HSH Princess Grace returned to the flower show to view the Princesse de Monaco Rose, a creamy white rose with petals gently edged with pink carmine, which grows in the Rose Garden in the Parks of Nervi to this day.
During his visit, the sovereign prince viewed the Jardin Exotique installation which is a lovely garden representing the Principality of Monaco…if that makes any sense.
Later in the afternoon, Prince Albert II arrived at the Palazzo Ducale in Genoa where he received Honorary Citizenship of Genoa from the mayor, Marco Bucci, signifying a long-lasting bond between Genoa and Monaco.
