On the afternoon of Saturday, April 16, 2022, Their Majesties King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain accompanied by their two daughters, Her Royal Highness Princess Leonor of Asturias and Her Royal Highness Princess Sofia of Spain visited the Centro de Atención, Acogida y Derivación de Refugiados Ucranianos in Pozuelo de Alarcón, Spain.

The reception center provides services to the newly arrived refugees including “…social care, the issuance of documentation by the Police to obtain residence permits, work, and access to health or education, accommodation, economic aid, and other needs…” according to Hola magazine.

During their visit, the royal family was informed about the daily operations of the reception center, met with staff as well as volunteers, and more importantly spent time with various Ukrainian refugees.
