On Tuesday, April 12, 2022, His Majesty King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands opened the exhibition entitled, Beleef Het Wonder van Gouda (Experience the Miracle of Gouda: A Unique Journey Along 16th-Century Art Treasures), at the Sint-Janskerk in Gouda, Netherlands.
The Beleef Het Wonder van Gouda exhibition displays priceless altarpieces with the Sint-Janskerk’s famous colorful stained glass. In a press release via RVD, the city of Gouda, “…was already known as a city of religious tolerance in the late Middle Ages, so a number of rare art treasures were not destroyed during the iconoclasm of 1566. The exhibition shows the fragile art treasures that symbolize a tolerant society.”
The Beleef Het Wonder van Gouda exhibition will be open to the public from April 14 to October 23, 2022. For more information about the exhibition as well as to purchase tickets please click here.
