On Friday, March 25, 2022, the Norwegian court announced that Their Majesties King Harald V and Queen Sonja of Norway will not attend the Service of Thanksgiving held in remembrance for the late His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh. The memorial will take place at Westminster Abbey on Tuesday, March 29.

The reason for the unfortunate cancellation is due to His Majesty King Harald V’s recovery from COVID-19 and that he is “…still on sick leave after being diagnosed with the Corona [virus] earlier this week.”

At this time it is unknown if Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway will represent Their Majesties for the upcoming the Service of Thanksgiving.

Wishing His Majesty a speedy recovery.
