On Thursday, March 24, 2022, Their Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall visited Waterford, Ireland in celebration of Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee year. This is the fifth time that the royal couple have officially visited Ireland together.

During their walkabout, The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall watched a performance by the Waterford Viking Re-Enactment Group, met with first responders as well as members of the Waterford community in Cathedral Square. The royal couple also visited the famous House of Waterford:

“…home of Waterford Crystal, where they got the chance to smash up rejected glass pieces before trying their hand at the glass-sanding process. Prince Charles impressed employees with his craftsmanship, with one telling him ‘you can start tomorrow.’ “

Thereafter, the Mayor of Waterford, Mr. Joe Kelly, hosted a reception in honor of The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall’s visit to the Republic of Ireland.
