On Monday, March 21, 2022, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco participated in the second day of the 13th Edition of the Monaco Blue Initiative held at the Musée Océanographique de Monaco in Monaco-Ville.
Established in 2010 by the sovereign prince, the Monaco Blue Initiative is a platform that “..brings together major players in the Ocean sector to discuss current and future challenges of Ocean management and conservation.”
Topics discussed during today’s gathering included the need for a new bold vision for Ocean conservation, including raising ambition in the face of emerging challenges, how to build on best practices and success stories in Ocean conservation to scale up the sustainable blue economy, and ways to channel and scale-up blue finance to accelerate the transition to an Ocean-positive economy.
Every year, the Monaco Blue Initiative is organized by the Fondation Prince Albert II de Monaco and the Institut Océanographique Fondation Albert I.
