(VIDEOS) TMs King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands Volunteer at the Zorgboerderij Op Aarde in Brielle

On Saturday, March 12, 2022, Their Majesties King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands volunteered at the Zorgboerderij Op Aarde in Brielle. Their Majesties participation is in connection with the NLdoet of the Oranje Fonds, which the royal couple are Patrons.

According to RVD, the Zorgboerderij Op Aarde is a:

“…is a farm combined with care and meaning; moreover, the farm aims to be a meeting place for everyone. In addition to producing and selling food, Zorgboerderij Op Aarde also offers room rentals and activities. In 2012 Care Farm On Earth was established. Elderly people living at home with early dementia can go here for daytime activities.

The daytime activities relieve the caregivers and ensure that the participants can continue to live independently for longer. The elderly work in and around the farm: they take care of the animals, do odd jobs in the workshop, keep the vegetable garden and help with cooking.”

During today’s volunteer work Their Majesties King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima pruned pear trees, cleaned the barn, tended to the animals living quarters, cleaned furniture, and generally had a fabulous time.
