On Friday, March 11, 2022, it was announced that Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mary of Denmark and The Mary Fonden (Foundation) have donated 300,00 Danish Krone (roughly $44,184) to support Børns Vilkår’s work to help Ukrainian children.

The organization recently started a fundraiser for “…children’s phones in Ukraine and the surrounding countries. Børns Vilkår will also be able to support Ukrainian children who come to Denmark and call BørneTelefonen…” according to a press release via the Mary Fonden.

In a statement Crown Princess Mary noted:

“It is unbearable to hear about the many Ukrainian children who are currently going through the horrors of war.  With the donation, we at the Mary Fonden want to contribute to Ukrainian children having a place to call, where they are heard and hopefully can get some concrete good advice in the difficult situation they are in. Whether they are still in Ukraine and the surrounding countries or in Denmark.”
