Anyway, during today’s visit Her Majesty Queen Sofia received the Medal of Honor for her commitment to the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía as well as for being an amazing woman who had to put up with a crappy husband, the exiled King Juan Carlos I of Spain, for dozens of years.

(VIDEOS) TMs King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium Visit an Emergency Shelter in Molenbeek-Saint-Jean 

On Wednesday, March 9, 2022, Their Majesties King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium visited an emergency shelter for Ukrainian refugees in Brussels, Belgium.

According to the Belgian news agency, RTBF, the shelter has a “…250 person capacity. The shelter provides emergency accommodation for three days for people who have no long-term housing solution…”

During today’s visit Their Majesties met with Red Cross volunteers and dozens of families who recently arrived to Belgium from Ukraine.

On Tuesday, March 8, 2022, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco received Letters of Credence from Ambassadors representing Australia, Egypt, Hungary, and Ukraine at the Palais Princier de Monaco.

TRHs Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel of Sweden Visit the Victoriaslussen

On Tuesday, March 8, 2022, Their Royal Highnesses Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel of Sweden accompanied by their two children, HRH Princess Estelle and HRH Prince Oscar of Sweden, visited the Victoriaslussen (Victoria Lock) construction site in Stockholm.

Per the Swedish Royal Court:

“In 1642, the first lock between Södermalm and the Old Town, Queen Kristina’s lock, was opened. Since then, the lock has been rebuilt several times due to changed conditions.

The new Victoria Lock, which bears the Crown Princess’ name, will, among other things, secure access to drinking water and manage increased flood risks and high water flows.”

During the visit, the Crown Princess family was given a tour of the new lock facility by City Planning Councilor, Mr. Joakim Larsson and Project Manager, Mr. Peter Svärd. The first part of the Victoria Lock is expected to be put into operation in late spring 2022. In 2024, work on the new regulation of Lake Mälaren is expected to be completed.

(VIDEO) HRH Princess Beatrix of the Netherlands Opens a New Wing at the Singer Laren Museum 

On Tuesday, March 8, 2022, Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrix of the Netherlands opened a new wing at the Singer Laren Museum in Laren, Netherlands.

The new wing is four hundred square meters and consists of five exhibition rooms, a Nardinc gallery, a garden room as a reception area, a cinema and an extensive museum shop. 

During yesterday’s visit Princess Beatrix also opened the highly anticipated art exhibit, Sluijters en de Modernen: Collectie Nardinc. The Nardinc Collection was generously donated to the Singer Laren Museum by Ms. Els Blokker-Verwer. The collection consists of more than forty works of art by the late post-impressionist artist, Mr. Jan Sluijters, and more than seventy works by modern contemporaries artists.
