On April 24, 2013, His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan continued his visit to Washington D.C. In the morning, His Majesty accompanied by the Jordanian Royal Court Chief, Mr. Fayez Tarawneh, the Jordanian Foreign Minister, Mr. Nasser Judeh, and the Jordanian Ambassador to the United States of America, Ms. Alia Buran, met with the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, Mr. John Boehner.
Discussions focused on bilateral relations between the United States of America and Jordan, the latest developments in Syria, and ways to revive the peace process between the Palestinians and the Israelis according to the Petra News Agency.
Afterward, His Majesty and his delegation met with the Chairwoman of the Appropriations Subcommittee on State-Foreign Operations, Ms. Kay Granger. Again, discussions focused on bilateral as well as economic relations between the United States and Jordan and “…[the] security situation in the Middle East and [the United States’] strategic alliance with Jordan…”
