It was announced by the Swedish royal court that the Swedish network, SVT, has purchased the rights to broadcast the wedding of Her Royal Highness Princess Madeleine of Sweden and Mr. Christopher O’Neill.
SVT project manager, Mr. Per Rådelius, stated, “We are proud to have been commissioned to be the host broadcaster for another royal wedding and look forward to producing the broadcast [of the wedding]…”
The Princess Madeleine and Mr. O’Neill will marry on June 8, 2013, at the Slottskyrkan at the royal palace in Stockholm. The ceremony begins at 4P.M. Swedish time.
Let’s hope SVT does another great job of airing the upcoming wedding (hence similar to that of Their Royal Highnesses Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel of Sweden’s wedding on June 19, 2010. If you saw their wedding live then you know what I am talking about). 🙂

I ended up watching about 12 hours of coverage online – I loved the views of Stockholm and the “white night”, plus there was hours of festivities. Fascinating!

I also watched Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel’s wedding live online and it was amazing! It was great that SVT aired the ceremony, of course, but I loved that they showed the entire wedding gala dinner, the costumed singers ushering the guests through the palace to the reception room where Victoria and Daniel cut their massive cake, the barrage of slightly tipsy royals making their way to the dance room to watch the wedding waltz, etc, etc. It was truly the best royal wedding ever.
Hopefully, the coverage of Madeleine’s wedding will be just as good…though I have a feeling SVT will not air the wedding gala dinner, dancing, etc.
SVT set the bar VERY high with their coverage of the Crown Princess’ marriage. I loved every minute of it.
