After a three-hour surgery for a herniated disc “…on the lumbosacral area of the spine” His Majesty King Juan Carlos I of Spain is currently resting at La Milagrosa Clinic in Madrid.

Following His Majesty’s successful surgery, Dr. Manuel de la Torre Gutiérrez, announced in a press conference that His Majesty would need at least “…two to six months of rehabilitation.  The first phase will focus on the lower back and later continue with leg exercises”

At this time His Majesty will remain the hospital for another week according to Dr. de la Torre Gutiérrez.

And, finally, Her Majesty Queen Sofia of Spain, Their Royal Highnesses Prince Felipe and Princess Letizia of Asturias, Infanta Elena and Infanta Cristina visited His Majesty after the surgery.
