His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco Participates in a Conference at the Université Catholique de Louvain.

On January 30, 2013, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco participated in the conference, Océans, Climat, Alimentation: Les Voies de la Transition Vers un Monde Durable, held at the Université Catholique de Louvain in Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium.

During today’s conference the sovereign prince gave a speech entitled, Les Menaces sur la vie des Océans se Précisent. Quels Espoirs pour les Surmonter?, which focused on “…the threats to ocean life and the possible solutions to overcome them.”

Other guest speakers included the Vice-Chairman of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and UCL professor, Mr. Jean-Pascal Van Ypersele and the United Nations Rapporteur for the Right to Food, Mr.Olivier De Schutter.

Tomorrow, Prince Albert II, along with His Royal Highness Prince Philippe of Belgium, will attend the 1st Congrès Interdisciplinaire du Développement Durable: Quelle Transition Pour nos Sociétés conference held at the Palais des Congrès in Namur.
