The Royal Correspondent

 Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark began their official visit to Hong Kong on December 6, 2012.  According to the Danish royal court this important visit will focus on “… commercial and cultural activities intended to strengthen the bilateral ties between Denmark and China.”

Today, the royal couple attended the official opening of Business Design Week held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center where “… Denmark as a partner country is represented by a Danish pavilion at the exhibition …”

Afterward, the crown prince and crown princess attended the opening of Hong Kong Trade Development Council World SME Expo and Hong Kong Inno Design Tech Expo (IDT Expo), visited the Danish jewelry company, Pandora, as well as the Georg Jenson store, and much more.

On December 6, 2012, His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales told the press that he was “…thrilled…” about becoming a grandfather.  Click here to watch a video and click here to read a brief article.

And, finally this morning The Prince of Wales, as patron of the Antarctic Winter Crossing Expedition 2012 launched,  “… ‘The Coldest Journey’.  The Prince met the members of the expedition’s ‘Ice Team’ on board the SA Agulhas which is moored next to HMS Belfast, The Queens Walk, in London.”

Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was discharged from King Edward VII Hopsital in London on December 6, 2012.  The duchess was admitted several days ago after suffering from Hyperemesis Gravidarum.

 Her Majesty Queen Sofia of Spain presided over the Premios Nacionales del Deporte 2011 at the Palacio Real de El Pardo in Madrid on Wednesday, December 5, 2012.  Also in attendance were Their Royal Highnesses Prince Felipe and Princess Letizia of Asturias, and Her Royal Highness Infanta Elena.

According to the Spanish royal court these awards are:

“… granted annually by the Consejo Superior de Deportes to distinguish individuals or entities, either by their direct activity or initiative, either as partners in development of sports policy, have contributed prominently to promote or propagate exercise regularly.”
