On the evening of October 6, 2012, Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark attended the 2012 Kronprinsparrets Priser held at the Koncertsalen Alsion in Sønderborg.
Per the Danish royal court:
“The Kronprinsparrets Kulturpris of DKK 500,000, which is awarded to a significantly younger Danish artist with an international standard. The Kronprinsparrets Sociale Pris of DKK 500,000, which is awarded to a pioneering social initiative or project. The Kulturelle Stjernedryspriser of DKK 50,000, which are awarded to two young Danish artists who are about to break through.”
The winner of the Kronprinsparrets Kulturpris went to artist and children’s author, Mr. Jakob Martin Strid. The winner of the Kronprinsparrets Sociale Pris went to the Red Cross Youth and the Kulturelle Stjernedryspriser went to Greenlandic singer-songwriter, Ms. Nive Nielsen and Accordionist, Mr. Bjarke Mogensen.
