On September 25, 2012, Their Majesties King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden participated in the official opening of the General Synod held at the Uppsala Cathedral.
In the afternoon, Their Majesties hosted a diplomatic reception at the royal palace in Stockholm.
