Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark Visit Brazil: Day One.

On Sunday, September 16, 2012, Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark began their six-day visit to beautiful Brazil.

According to the Danish royal court the trip will focus on:

“… the development of Danish cooperation opportunities with Brazil in the oil and gas industry, biofuels, water sector, medicine and medical equipment, education, tourism to Denmark and creative industries such as design, gastronomy, architecture, art and music.

The Brazilian economy has undergone significant development in recent years and appears now as the world’s sixth largest economy. 

This has resulted in a wealth of market opportunities for Danish companies, which can be read in the past year favorable development of Denmark’s exports to Brazil.

But there is plenty of room for additional Danish exports to Brazil, and the visit will be used for a number of export promotion activities – as well as to strengthen cooperation in culture and education.

More than 50 companies and organizations are involved in various export promotion activities under the crown prince couple’s stay in Brazil.”

Any way, the day began with a visit to the Tomie Ohtake Institute where they viewed an exhibition by Danish artist, Asger Jorn.  One hour later, Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary visited the Scandinavian Church in São Paulo and then attended a reception held in their honor at a Danish colony.

The day ended with a visit to the Scandinavia Designs store.  Whilst there Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary toured an exhibition event thingy entitled, COOL Denmark, which focuses on “…Danish lifestyle.”  During the event the crown princely couple dined on delicious “… Danish and Brazilian cuisines by five different chefs from Denmark and Brazil.”
