On Wednesday, September 5, 2012, Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark celebrated Flag Day 2012.
The future king and queen of Denmark began their day by placing a wreath “… at the monument to Denmark’s international efforts after 1948…” located the Citadel in Copenhagen.
Afterward, the crown princely couple were at Holmens Kirke to attend a memorial service in honor of Flag Day. Attendees at the service included Danish Prime Minister, Ms. Helle Thorning-Schmidt as well as other government officials Later, the Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary were at the Christiansborg Palace courtyard to attend “…a parade of Denmark’s soldiers in active service held on the occasion of Flag Day…”
