On Tuesday, September 4, 2012, His Majesty King Harald V of Norway was at the Oslo Concert Hall where he presented awards to seven recipients of the 2012 Kavliprisene. The Kavliprisene are awarded to:
“… scientists who have made an outstanding contribution in the fields of Nanoscience, Astrophysics and Neuroscience. Each of the prize winners received a gold medal, a scroll and a share of the prize money of USD 1 million in each of the scientific fields.”
Afterward, His Majesty King Harald V along with the winners as well as guests at the award ceremony attended a gala banquet held at the Oslo Town Hall.
