Random Royal News Regarding Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II of Denmark and Their Serene Highnesses Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco.

On August 31, 2012, Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II of Denmark was at the Trapholt Art Museum in Kolding to attend the opening of the new exhibition entitled, En Dronning og Hendes Familie (A Queen and Her Family).

This special exhibition showcases 45 different paintings from artists such as Andy Warhol, Niels Strøbæk, and Preben Hornung to name a few.  Per the official website for the Trapholt Art Museum:

“Royal portraits were originally an integral aspect of the way monarchs were traditionally presented to the public, upholding their status through power symbols and splendour. But rather than simply reestablishing the classic expression of power, the Queen and HRH the Prince Consort invited both new and controversial artists to create portraits which developed and modernised the genre as a contemporary and observant medium telling the story of a monarch and her family…”
