Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden Attends the 2012 Stockholm Junior Water Prize Award Ceremony. (VIDEO)

On the evening of August 29, 2012, Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden attended the 2012 Stockholm Junior Water Prize (SJWP) award ceremony.  The future queen of Sweden is patron.

According to the Stockholm International Water Institute the SJWP is a competition that:

“… brings together the world’s brightest young scientists to encourage their continued interest in water and the environment.

Each year, thousands of participants in over 30 countries join national competitions for the chance to represent their nation at the international final held during the World Water Week in Stockholm. During their time in Stockholm, winners of the national competitions receive an opportunity to meet and learn from the present leaders of the global water community and make life-long friendships with international compatriots who share a passion for water and science.

The national and international competitions are open to young people between the age of 15 and 20 who have conducted water-related projects focusing on local, regional, national or global topics of environmental, scientific, social or technological importance. The international winner receives a USD 5,000 award, a prize sculpture and a diploma. As a result of the competitions, thousands of young people around the world become interested in water.”

Their Serene Highnesses Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco Attend the Opening Ceremony of the 2012 Paralympic Games.

On Wednesday, August 29, 2012, Their Serene Highnesses Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco attended the Opening Ceremony of the 2012 Paralympic Games in London.

Also in attendance were Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Their Royal Highnesses The Earl and Countess of Wessex, Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal, Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, Her Royal Highness Princess Alexandra, Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Her Royal Highness Infanta Elena of Spain, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammad bin Nawaf bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud of Saudi Arabia.

His Majesty King Juan Carlos I of Spain Attends a Luncheon. Plus, Other News.

On Wednesday, August 29, 2012, His Majesty King Juan Carlos I of Spain attended a luncheon with members of the Consejo Empresarial para la Competitividad (CEC) in Madrid.

Guests at the luncheon included the President of BBVA, Mr. Francisco González, the President of the CEC and Telefonica, Mr. Cesar Alierta, and the President of Iberdrola, Mr. Ignacio Sánchez Galán to name a few.

According to the Spanish royal court the CEC is:

“… a forum for analysis and opinion formed by Telefónica, El Corte Inglés, handle, Grupo Barceló, Banco Santander, Repsol, Acciona, La Caixa, BBVA, Inditex, Grupo Planeta, Mapfre, ACS, Ferrovial, Havas Media Group, Mercadona, Iberdrola and the family business Institute.

Its main objective is to come up with proposals that will help the recovery of the Spanish economy, the improvement of competitiveness and strengthening international confidence in our country.”

And, finally, Her Royal Highness Infanta Elena of Spain will attend the opening ceremony of the 2012 Paralympic Games in London this evening.

Random Royal News Regarding Their Royal Highnesses Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel of Sweden.

On Wednesday, August 29, 2012, Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Victoria participated in the Sustainable Oceans Initiative seminar held at the Kolskjulet on Kastellholmen in Stockholm.

Guests attending today’s event included the Environment Minister, Ms. Lena Ek, the Sea & Water Authority Director, General Urban Widmark, researchers, politicians as well as leading scientists who “… gave lectures regarding the environmental toxins in the Baltic Sea…”

Meanwhile, His Royal Highness Prince Daniel visited the offices of Stockholm Innovation & Growth (STING) this afternoon. The purpose of STING is to help young innovators and entrepreneurs by providing them “… support and business development to help start-ups grown faster…”

During his visit the prince met with the founder and CEO of STING, Mr.Pär Hedberg, and co-founder and CTO of Bioservo, Mr. John Ingvast to name a few.
