On Tuesday, August 28, 2012, His Majesty King Harald V of Norway opened the 2012 Offshore Northern Seas (ONS) Energy Fair, Conference and Exhibition in Stavanger.
According to the official website for the Norwegian royal court the ONS “… aims to be a showcase for technology and a meeting place for the petroleum industry, members in the renewable energy and energy policy. 1,350 exhibitors from over 100 countries are in place during this year’s exhibition.”
Afterward, His Majesty attended the opening of two exhibitions held at the Stavanger Art Museum. The exhibitions were “Gåten bak Lerretet” by Edvard Munch and “BMW Art Cars”, a project which began in 1975 by art collector and race-car driver, Mr. Hervé Poulain, ”… who wanted the artists to use the car [s] as a canvas…”
