Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mary of Denmark Goes Swimming.

On August 25, 2012, Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mary of Denmark participated in a “…swimming rally around  the waterfront and in the channels at Christiansborg…”

According to the Danish newspaper, Sjællands Nyheder, the crown princess was accompanied by former swimming champion, Ms. Mette Jacobsen and several others.  The newspaper also notes that Crown Princess Mary was a “… swimming champion in her youth…”  

Crown Princess Mary finished 65th with a time of 35:20 during today’s race. She is also patron of the Dansk Svømmeunion (Danish Swimming Union).

    Was she really a champion or was she simply a swimmer?

    Really a champion? I know she was a good swimmer, but not that she was a champion. I thought she spent most of her time on horse riding, when she was younger
