His Royal Highness Prince Carl Philip of Sweden… And the Drama Continues.

According to the Swedish newspaper, Expressen, the man in the video who is seen grabbing His Royal Highness Prince Carl Philip of Sweden’s neck is apparently the club bouncer (aka security guard).  His name: Mr. Stéphane Reveillon.

Mr. Reveillon was trying to stop the slapfest between Prince Carl Philip and some dudes on that fun-filled Friday night in Cannes, France. Anyway, Mr. Reveillon recently spoke to the Expressen newspaper to explain his side of the story.  Here is what he had to say:

“I was standing by the door when about five people, dressed in white passed.  Suddenly, I hear many people screaming. It looked like there would be trouble.  When I arrived the screaming escalated then it came to blows. “  Apparently, the unknown overly tanned dudes said something about Sofia that angered Prince Carl Philip.  “They had been drinking and it appeared they had provoked him because he had a nice looking girl with him.  The prince said to the men ‘What about my girlfriend?!!!’  The fight began.  I grabbed his neck to stop the fight and wanted him to get away from trouble.  Everyone was trying to get the prince away from the fight.  They said, ‘Ignore it, it’s nothing…’ “

Journalists from the Expressen newspaper asked if Mr. Reveillon if he regrets his actions “Yes… we did not know that he was a Swedish prince.  If we knew then obviously we would have made sure nobody messed with him…”

The Expressen journalists asked why no one called the police.  Mr. Reveillon states that he is not responsible for what happens outside of the club.  He says that it, “… is up to the prince if he wants to make a complaint [to the police].”

In the meantime, Chief Information Officier for the Swedish royal court, Mr. Bertil Ternert, made another statement this afternoon regarding the infamous slapfest.  Here is what he had to say:

“It is still not decided how we will proceed with this issue.  We are checking with our lawyer to see what our options are.”  “Why didn’t you notify the police right away?” asks an Expressen journalist, “One must consider the impact of the French judiciary system and the consequences.  So we are in the process of assessing this” said Ternert.

The journalist also wanted to know if they have been in contact with the police in Cannes. Apparently, the Swedish court has not; moreover, Mr. Ternert also notes they have no idea who “attacked” Prince Carl Philip.

So, there you have it.  The Swedish royal court has absolutely no idea what they are doing, and Prince Carl Philip is an innocent little lamb who was bullied as well as attacked by big meanie weenie overly tanned dudes.

Whatever.

OMG you are so funny. Seriously CP is hot as hell but he needs to get over it. He went (or tried to) after them as much as they did to him. Sofia did more. But really I said to my twin that had that been Harry those people would’ve been out cold. He wouldn’t be crying over it or contemplating suing I think. Weird situation. Also I like the fact that the bouncer was like we didn’t know he was a prince and if he had they’d make sure no one would mess with him. Good to know we little peons wouldn’t be taken care of in that bar.

As I said in another post, I actually feel sorry for Prince Carl Philip. He’s a 33-year old man acting like a 20-year old.

Sure, it wasn’t cool that those dudes made a remark about Sofia; however, the prince should have brushed it off and walked away. But, he didn’t. As a result, the slapfest was recorded then posted on You Tube. Eventually, the video has made its way onto Vimeo, Daily Motion, and other video hosting sites for the entire world to watch over and over and over again.

I really do hope that he moves on with his life and focuses on his royal duties from now on. :)

Please stop with the nasty way you describe people. This makes me and other people that are my friends notice that you really hate the royal families or are just jealous of them. Please be professional in your news articles as it’s shows your negative side when you do this. Thank you Sherian

      Hi Elizabeth/Sherian!

Sorry if my sarcasm doesn’t translate well online; moreover, you should know that I actually do like as well as respect many royal and princely families. If I didn’t I would waste my time blogging about them… instead I would be surfing seven hours a day. :)

With that being said, I’ll watch my tongue… just a bit. :)

Well royalty is certainly not what it used to be. Apart from cutting ribbons, posing and once in a while reading out loud a speech written by someone else it is fair to say that they are for the vast majority parasites living off the states tax payers (see the UK or Denmark). It’s not like before when they had a true political role or took real risks in the army. It is a shame too that they carry on passing the title to the eldest child as history and present shows it is not always the most competent.

I love your site. I think people forget that royals are royals simply by being born or married. They do charities and such for PR. I’ m sure some truly do these things out of real commitment and passion, but most would rather go on vacation. It’s nice to see them portrayed as humans, nothing more. Don’t change your style.

I’m disgusted by this article. So the steward says that “he wouldn’t have done it if he knew he was a prince” – so an identical situation deserves 2 separate types of treatment depending on who’s involved in it?
And I really hope the swedish court doesn’t raise this to the police. Obviously CP must have had some sort of involvement for this to happen. The steward was just doing his job: when he saw the situation starting to get messy he reacted. It’s what his job is all about. So if CP reacted to the comment, it is just fair that he was told off for that.
Which comment did the guys make about Sophia that was so rude then? CP should behave. There’s no harm in doing as if you don’t hear when you are a prince: ignorance is the best ways of denoting that you have class and they don’t.
I’d like to support either side, but I’m afraid in this situation they are both equally guilty. The steward because of his “unfair reflection” on how he should have handled the situation, the prince because of his childish reaction. But hey, what can one expect going out with an ex reality show contestant…
I’m glad it was Victoria who was first born…. she’s clearly the most mature out of this bunch.
