On Wednesday, August 8, 2012, Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II of Denmark visited the Olympic Village located in Stratford, east London.
Afterward, Her Majesty joined Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark along with their two eldest children, Prince Christian andPrincess Isabella, at the Basketball Arena to watch the Men’s Handball Quarterfinal. The royal family cheered on Team Denmark as they battled it out against Team Sweden.
Their Majesties King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden along with His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco were also in attendance. So who won the game? Sweden. Final score: 24-22.
Prior to the intense Handball match Their Majesties King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden watched the Equestrian Individual Jumping Finals held at Greenwich Park in London.
