On Sunday, August 5, 21012, Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II of Denmark and Her Royal Highness Princess Benedikte of Denmark attended a special Olympic service held at St. Katherine’s Den Danske Kirke (The Danish Church) in London.
Attendees included Ambassador Anne Steffensen, Hans Skov Christensen, Margith Pedersen, Ove Ullerup, Niels Nygaard, and local Danes living in London to name a few.
In the afternoon, Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II and Princess Benedikte attended the Men’s Doubles Gold Match in Badminton. Mathias Boe and Carsten Mogensen of Team Denmark battled it out on the court against Cai Yun and Fu Haifeng of Team China. In the end, Team Denmark lost the match. Final score: 21-15.
