Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II of Denmark Attends a Reception for Team Denmark. (VIDEO)

On August 4, 2012, Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II of Denmark along with Her Royal Highness Princess Benedikte and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark attended a reception for members of Team Denmark held at the Natural History Museum in London.

Tonight’s special event was organized by DIF, Sport One Denmark and Team Denmark. Guests included Danish Prime Minister, Ms. Helle Thorning-Schmidt, Preben Elkjær, silver medalist Fie Udby Erichsen, and handball player Trine Troelsen to name a few.

During the reception Her Majesty congratulated Mr. Mads Rasmussen and Mr. Rasmus Quist who won the gold medal in the Men’s Lightweight Double Sculls earlier today.  Click here to watch a news report (video may not work for everyone).

Random Royal News Regarding Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden and Their Royal Highnesses Prince Joachim and Princess Marie of Denmark.

On August 4, 2012, Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden, along with the Education Minister of Sweden, Jan Bjoerklund, attended a remembrance service/memorial ceremony for the late Raoul Wallenberg in Sigtuna, Sweden.

The purpose of the today’s event is to celebrate“…100 years since the birth of diplomat Raoul Wallenberg… a man who saved tens of thousands of Hungarian Jews from the Holocaust before vanishing into Soviet custody.”

And, finally, His Royal Highness Prince Joachim of Denmark participated in the Copenhagen Grand Prix race today.  Princess Marie and Prince Henrik were there to cheer him on.

Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge Enjoy Day 9,000 of the London Olympics!

On August 4, 2012,  Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge enjoyed day 9,000 8 of the 2012 London Olympics.

The royal couple, along with British Prime Minister David Cameron and thousands of spectators, filled the Olympic Stadium in London to watch Track and Field (or as some call it Athletics).

So what did the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge watch?  Don’t know.  However, they sure had a menu of options to choose from.  For example, there was the Men’s Long Jump Final, Women’s Heptathlon 800m, Women’s Pole Vault Qualifications, and the Men’s 400m Hurdles Semi-finals to name a few.

Members of the British and Greek Royal Family Enjoy Day 8 of the London Olympics.

On Saturday, August 4, 2012, Her Royal Highness the Princess Royal and Mr. Timothy Laurence along with Ms. Zara Phillips, Peter and Autumn Phillips, Their Majesties King Constantine and Queen Anne-Marie of Greece as well as Crown Prince Pavlos of Greece were at the Eton Dorney Rowing Center to watch the final day of Rowing.

The royals cheered on Zac Purchase and Mark Hunter of Team GB, who were participating in the second race of the day, the Men’s Lightweight Double Sculls Final.  Team GB had stiff competition against Team New Zealand, Team France, Team Germany, Team Portugal and Team Denmark.

In the end, it was Mads Rasmussen and Rasmus Quist of Team Denmark who won the intense and difficult race.  Their time: 6:37.17.  Team GB came in 2nd with a time of 6:37.78.

Next, was the Women’s Lightweight Double Sculls.  Team GB won the gold medal with Team Greece capturing the bronze medal.

The most anticipated race of the day was the Men’s Four Final.  Once again, Team GB battled it out against Team Australia, Team USA, Team Netherlands, Team Greece and Team Germany.  Again, Team GB won the gold medal with a time of 6:03.97.  Team Australia won the silver and Team USA won the bronze.  Team Greece came in 4th place.
