On June 14, 2012, Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II and His Royal Highness Prince Henrik of Denmark along with Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary, and Prince Joachim welcomed the President of the People’s Republic of China, Mr. Hu Jintao and his lovely wife, Mrs. Liu Yongqing to Denmark. The president is on a state visit to strengthen bilateral and economic ties between China and Denmark. According to the Danish royal court, the president is:
… accompanied by a delegation of ministers and central Chinese decision-makers. In the programme for the Chinese guests included, among other things, economic cooperation and sustainability, as the Danish and Chinese governments have chosen to put special focus on during the visit.
Anyway, upon his arrival at the airport the president and his delegation were given the royal treatment with an official royal military welcome and so forth. You know, the usual stuff.
In the evening there, Her Majesty and the Prince Consort hosted a gala dinner, held at Christiansborg Slot, on the “…occasion of Business Europe’s Council of Presidents’ meeting in Copenhagen.” Guests included way too many people for me to mention as well as members of the Danish royal court and of course the royal family.
