His Royal Highness Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark Attends Giro d’Italia in Herning

On Sunday, May 6, 2012, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark attended the second stage of the Giro d’Italia long distance bicycle race in Herning, Denmark.  Crown Prince Frederik was accompanied by the mayor of Herning, Mr. Lars Krarup and the Managing Director of RCS Sport, Mr. Michele Acquarone.

The winner of today’s second leg was Mr. Mark Cavendish from Britain.

Count Carl Johan Bernadotte of Wisborg Has Passed Away.

It was announced by the Swedish royal court that Count Carl Johan Bernadotte of Wisborg has passed away at the age of 95.

The youngest son of the late King Gustaf VI Adolf and Margareta of Sweden (Princess Margaret of Connaught) “… died quietly and peacefully with his immediate family surrounding him at Ängelholm Hospital on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at 9 P.M…” according to the Swedish royal court.

His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden released a statement about the death of his beloved uncle:

Count Carl Johan Bernadotte was a dear and loved member of the family, which was essential for the entire family through his kindness, and humor. We will remember Carl Johan as a renowned and wise relative that we have always been proud of…

At this time funeral arrangements for the late Count Carl Johan have yet to be disclosed.
