The last time Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II of Denmark visited the Skagen Museum was in 1982 when she participated in the “…inauguration of the museum’s expansion.”
Today, Her Majesty returned to the museum located in northern Jutland to officially open the new exhibition, Krøyer: I Internationalt Lys (Krøyer: In International Light).
Upon her arrival Her Majesty was greeted by dozens of well-wishers, the Skagen Museum chairman, Mr. Hans Jørgen Kaptain, as well as the museum’s director, Ms. Lisette Wind Ebbesen who noted, “We are really happy that Her Majesty has shown interest in ‘Krøyer: In International Light’ and as well as to help open the exhibition.”
Once inside the queen met with the Skagen Museum staff before attending a luncheon held in her honor. Afterward, Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II officially opened the new exhibition to the delight of all.
