On February 1, 2012, His Majesty King Harald of Norway attended the Energy Symposium conference in Oslo. The conference focused on “…Norwegian energy policy in light of the global energy situation.” The day before His Majesty along with Queen Sonja hosted a reception for the “… recipients of the King’s Medal of Merit…” held at the royal palace in Oslo.
Meanwhile, Her Highness Infanta Maria Adelaide de Bragança, Dom Duarte de Bragança aunt, turned 100 years old on January 31, 2012. According to Manuel Beninger, writer from PPM Braga, the Infanta was born in St. Jean de Luz, France and is:
[the] daughter of D. Miguel of Braganza and Princess Therese of Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rosenberg. The princess, is the oldest person in the Bragança family, and will now be honored and awarded the Medal of the Order of Civil Merit.
The Princess Adelaide de Bragança van Uden, widow of the Dutch physician Nicolaas van Uden, is paternal aunt of the Duke of Bragança and the only living grandchild of King Miguel I of Portugal.
