It wasn’t exactly ideal weather in Copenhagen this morning when Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II and His Royal Highness Prince Henrik rode in the beautiful gold carriage from Amalienborg Slot to Christiansborg Slot for Nytårskur. According to the Danish magazine, Billed Bladet, the gold carriage took a beating with high winds shaking the historic coach from side to side as they rode through the streets of Copenhagen.

Nevertheless, the reigning couple made it to Christiansborg Slot just in time for Nytårskur 2012.  Once there Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II and Prince Henrik joined Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary where they received officers from the Defence and Emergency Management Agency, 1st, 2nd and 3rd Class ranks, and representatives from several national organizations and royal patronages.
