On December 21, 2011, His Serene Highness Prince Hans-Adam II of Liechtenstein participated in the 2011 Light of Peace From Bethlehem ceremony held at the Mauren Pfarrkirche in Vaduz, Liechtenstein.   To view photos please click here.

Meanwhile, Their Serene Highnesses Princess Marie and Hereditary Princess Sophie of Liechtenstein visited the St. Lawrence Nursing Home in Schaan. During their visit they presented gifts as well as mingled with the residents.  To view photos please click here.

H.R.H. Prince Philippe of Belgium to Attend the Funeral of Czech ex-President,Vaclav Havel

It was announced by the Belgian royal court that His Royal Highness Prince Philippe of Belgium will attend the funeral of playwright and Czech ex-president Vaclav Havel on Friday, December 23, 2011 in Prague.

Held at the historic Saint Vitus Cathedral the state funeral will also be attended by His Royal Highness Prince Willem-Alexander of Oranje, French President Nicolas Sarkozy, United States Secretary Hillary Clinton, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, and Israeli President Shimon Peres.

H.R.H. Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark Presents the IOC Trophy to the DIF Soldiers Project

On December 21, 2011, H.R.H. Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark presented the IOC Trophy to the DIF Soldiers Project held at the Svanemoellen Barracks in Østerbro.  The project, which is a collaboration between the DIF, Danish Military Sports Association (DMI) and the Danish Disabled Sports Federation (DHIF), aims to develop sports opportunities for the soldiers who were wounded tour their tour of duty abroad.  In a brief interview, the heir to the Danish throne stated, “Sport can give a helping hand to those people whose life changed dramatically in such a short amount of time…”  In addition to receiving the IOC Trophy the  DIF received 5,000 Kroners from the Danish Sports Federation.

H.R.H. Princess Madeleine Back Home in Sweden

H.R.H. Princess Madeleine of Sweden is currently in Stockholm where she will spend the holidays with her family.  Recently, the beautiful princess was spotted at the exclusive Lydmar Hotel dining with friends. According to the Swedish magazine, Svensk Damtidning, on December 23, 2011, Princess Madeleine will attend a concert arranged by the Friends of Drottningholm Theatre at the Drottningholm Royal Chapel.

It is unknown how long the princess will stay in Sweden; however, Bertil Ternert, a palace spokesman, noted that she has a full-time job in New York City working with the World Childhood Foundation… so basically she will return to the United States after the holidays.  For how long?  Who knows.
