This afternoon at the royal palace in Stockholm His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia along with T.R.H.s Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel of Sweden hosted a luncheon for Riksdag party leader, Mr. Håkan Juholt.
On Monday, November 14, 2011, His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf attended the Swedish Cancer Society Luncheon Symposium in honor of the society’s 60th anniversary. According to the official website for the royal house of Sweden, Kungahuest:
The King was greeted by Secretary General Stefan Bergh, Chairman Bengt Holgersson and Anna Bromberg Sehlberg responsible for the Cancer Society’s 60th anniversary.
The symposium consisted of four lectures:
- Chairman Bengt Westermark, Cancer Society’s research committee, the “Cancer research challenges and opportunities”.
- Vice Dean Kristoffer Hellstrand, Sahlgrenska Academy, on “Cancer Society’s fundraising impact on the Swedish Cancer”.
- Associate Professor Anna Martling, Karolinska Institute, on “Cancer Society’s commitment to young cancer research positions.”
- Secretary General Stefan Bergh, Cancer Society, on “Cancer Society’s future vision and goals.”
The Swedish Cancer Society is the single largest financier of Swedish cancer research and funding each year about 400 research projects. The Cancer Society’s board ousted in 2010 just over SEK 385 million for research projects, services, healthcare development, planning groups and more. source
