H.R.H. Princess Letizia of Asturias Gives a Speech at the 7th Scientific-Familiar National Congress (VIDEO)

On October 1, 2011, H.R.H. Princess Letizia of Asturias was in Barcelona, Spain to attend the 7th Scientific-Familiar National Congress.  In her opening speech the beautiful Spanish princess spoke about the importance of promoting scientific research and that “… all institutions, companies, and all citizens should be involved in research…” or something along those lines.  Any way, to view photos please click here.

Danish Royal Family News

This morning in lovely Denmark H.R.H. Crown Prince Frederik participated in the Merida MTB Bike Marathon. Also, at the event was Christian Schönau, the crown prince’s close friend and chief of court and the former Prime Minister of Denmark, Lars Lokke Rasmussen. To view photos please click here.

On October 1, 2011, H.R.H. Princess Marie partook in the DEMA training session held at the Technical College in Tinglev.  The pregnant princess has gone through emergency training before with the DEMA agency, and as a result she has earned the rank of “Corps Master” the equivalent of lieutenant.  As on hand at the training session was Britt Siesbye, the princess’s lady-in-waiting.  To view photos please click here. This evening Princess Marie will attend the AIDS Foundation anniversary gala at the Tivoli Hotel in Copenhagen.

And, finally H.R.H. Princess Benedikte attended a rowing competition held at lake Brabrand located in the eastern part of Aarhus Ådal in Denmark.

H.R.H. Princess Mathilde of Belgium Attends ‘European Job Days’ in Brussels

On October 1, 2011, H.R.H. Princess Mathilde of Belgium attended the 2011 European Job Days event at the Berlaymont in Brussels.  This event is organized by the European Commission, EURES, the network of employment in Europe.

European Job Days is dedicated to the recruitment and the provision of practical information on all aspects of geographical mobility in Europe.  It also facilitates contacts between employers and job seekers, especially the youth.  The main theme of this year is “job creation through entrepreneurship” including the use of the instrument of microfinance.

Grand Ducal House of Luxembourg News

The Hereditary Grand Duke Prince Guillaume of Luxembourg has been quite busy these past few days.  Yesterday, the prince attended the 21st Krazibierg Gala Charity Foundation.  As honorary president of the foundation it was his duty as well as pleasure to show up.

On October 1, 2011, Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg attended the funeral of the late H.I.R.H. Archduke Felix of Austria at the Klosterkirche Muri in Switzerland.  Finally, this morning at the Cathédrale de Luxembourg, the grand duke participated in a Mass in honor of National Commemoration Day in Luxembourg.  After the service he attended a ceremony the Monument National de Solidarite Luxembourg.

H.M. Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands Attends the Re-Opening of the Scheepvaartmuseum

On October 1, 2011, Her Majesty Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands attended the re-opening of the Scheepvaartmuseum (Netherlands Maritime Museum) in Amsterdam.  Arriving on the royal yacht, De Groene, Queen Beatrix was warmly greeted by the mayor of Amsterdam, Eberhard van deer Laan, museum employees, and other guests.

The Scheepvaartmuseum had undergone major renovation for the past four years; now the museum is in tip-top shape and ready for visitors to view their artifacts, paintings, and so on.

H.S.H. Princess Charlene of Monaco in Paris, France

The S/S 2012 prêt-à-porter shows continued today in Paris, France and this afternoon the Swiss design house, Akris, presented their collection at the Palais de Chaillot.  Guests at the show included H.S.H. Princess Charlene of Monaco (wearing a dress by Akris), Hamish Bowles, and Anna Wintour to name a few.

T.R.H.s Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark Attend the Kronprinsparrets Priser 2011

On October 1, 2011, T.R.H.s Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark attended the 2011 Kronprinsparrets Priser (Crown Prince Couple’s Prize) held at the Concert Hall in Aarhus. Awards are given to those for their contributions  various artistic endeavors.
