Well, this is awkward. While millions of people are starving and dying in famine ridden East Africa there was a grand old foodie lovers event happening in Copenhagen (I probably shouldn’t have posted this news right after Crown Princess Mary’s humanitarian mission at the Dadaab refugee camp in Kenya.)
Yeah… so on August 27, 2011, the lovely Princess Marie of Denmark attended the opening of the 2011 Copenhagen Cooking-Nordic Taste event in — where else — Copenhagen. According to the site, Wonderful Copenhagen:
One of the new events is ‘Nordic Taste’, which runs 27-28 August in Den Hvide Kødby (part of the Meat Packing district), and will be opened by the new patron of Copenhagen Cooking 2011, HRH Princess Marie. ‘Nordic Taste’ will see 30 top Nordic restaurants offering tastings with their emphasis on local produce and food traditions. There will also be a German wine festival, Nordic cocktails and all kinds of delicacies.
