Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II Unveils the Yates Statue At Royal Ascot 2011

If you haven’t heard by now, today was the first day of Royal Ascot 2011 in Ascot, Berkshire.  Many members of the British royal family attended the 300th year (which began in 1711 by Queen Anne) of this most prestigious social event of the year including The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall,  The Countess of Wessex, The Princess Royal, The Duke of Edinburgh, and of course Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

H.R.H. Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark Visits Japan: Day Two

On day two of his official visit to Japan, H.R.H. Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark toured the city of Higashi Matsushima in northeastern Japan; an area hardest hit by the March 11, 2011, earthquake and tsunami.  According to the Danish newspaper, BT, the heir to the Danish throne met with the local youth when he visited a school and a kindergarten:

 ’It’s a great experience being here,’ said Frederik, who has met survivors of the disaster, presented donations from Danish companies and visited both a school and a kindergarten.

The many children made an especially strong impression on Frederik. Several of the children have lost one or both parents.‘Children give so much. No matter how hard they have had it. They are generally happy and absorb positive experiences,’ says the Crown Prince, who was received with great jubilation by many children.

Soon, H.R.H.
