Charlene Wittstock, The Future Princess of Monaco: Part Two Interview from ZDF

Here is part two from the SABC3/ZDF interview with the future Princess of Monaco, the beautiful Charlene Wittstock.  In this segment, Miss Wittstock discusses sports as well as the prince’s passion for athletics and charity work.

H.R.H. Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway in New York City

As the International Goodwill Ambassador for UNAIDS Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway is currently in New York City to partake in the UN General Assembly High Level Meetings on HIV and AIDS.

According to Kongehuest.no, the crown princess gave a speech at:

 …a special side event, where the Norwegian UN delegation is hosted by the International Peace Institute. The theme is women and children’s health as key to achieving global development goals in general, and in the fight against HIV and AIDS in particular.

On June 9, 2011, Crown Princess Mette-Marit will participate in panel discussion at a side event organized by several UN agencies, including UNAIDS. It will be the main focus of young people important role in the fight against AIDS.

Also, on June 9, she will be present when the Environment and Development, Erik Solheim, Norway’s main holding posts in the UN General Assembly.

H.R.H. Princess Maxima of the Netherlands Attends the Opening of an Educational Center in Almere

On June 8, 2011, H.R.H. Princess Maxima of the Netherlands attended the opening of a new educational center in Almere.  The purpose of this new center is to promote a healthy lifestyle “…to inform children about the themes of construction, housing, and healthy living in a sustainable area.” (source)  Furthermore, according to the Dutch online newspaper, AD.nl, the idea for the overall look of the new center was “…provided by the local youth and in turn designed by architect, Jord den Hollander.”

H.R.H. Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark Visits the Ukraine

On June 5, 2011, H.R.H. Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark began his brief visit to the Ukraine.  The purpose for the heir to the Danish throne visiting this country… business.

According to the official website for the royal house of Denmark, Kongehuest.dk, the crown prince was invited by the:

Prime Minister Mykola Azarov… Besides staying in Kiev, the Crown Prince visits to some of Ukraine’s provinces.

The Crown Prince will be accompanied by Climate and Energy Minister and a delegation with representatives from Danish industry. Purpose of the visit is to develop the economic-commercial cooperation between Denmark and Ukraine.

Besides the business aspect of this trip, the crown prince had a chained to partake in a, “… ceremony for victims of the Great Famine in the Ukrainian capital of Kiev…” (source)  

This afternoon, Crown Prince Frederik visited the city of L’viv where he met the mayor, had a couple of meetings with local businessmen as well as companies along members of the Danish Business Association who travelled with the crown prince.

Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II and H.R.H. Prince Henrik of Denmark Visit the United States: Day Three

On June 8, 2011, Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II and H.R.H. Prince Henrik of Denmark continued their week-long visit to the United States this afternoon.

First, the reigning couple visited Capitol Hill where they met with Minority Whip, Steny Hoyer, who gave the couple a tour of Congress.

Then it was off to met First Lady Michelle Obama at the White House where they sat down for a cup of tea. Unfortunately, it is unknown at this time if reigning couple had a chance to meet President Obama (I doubt that they did.  The president is very busy these days.)

As the day progressed Her Majesty and the Prince Consort held a press conference aboard the presidential yacht, USS Sequoia.  After one hour of answering questions as well as posing for photos the reigning couple were off to have lunch and a quick visit to the Phillips Collection, a museum of contemporary art.

Tonight, Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II and H.R.H. Prince Henrik will attend a gala dinner at the Danish Ambassador’s residence in Washington D.C.

Tomorrow the reigning couple will head on over to New York City where they will visit the United Nations Headquarters, the Museum of Modern Art, and the American Museum of Natural History.
