The Royal Correspondent

This evening, May 27, 2011, in Amsterdam there was a regal concert in honor of H.R.H. Princess Maxima of the Netherlands 40th birthday.

The guest-list was filled with members of the Dutch royal family, various members from other reigning and non-reigning royal houses, the princess’s brother and mother from Argentina, and friends from the Netherlands.  In total, there were over 700 guests at the event.

The concert was held at the beautiful Concertgebouw and the world renowned in house orchestra played various classical pieces from Frédéric Chopin, Franz Liszt, and others according to a guest at the concert.

On their final day of their annual summer cruise, Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II and her husband, H.R.H. Prince Henrik of Denmark docked in the port town of Horsens.

As usual, a myriad of people came out to welcome their fantastic queen and her husband.   Once things were settled the couple got into their royal carriage and waved to the crowds as they pasted by.   The royal duo had a chance to visit various sites in Horsens including the VIA University College, Horsens, where H.R. H. Prince Henrik decided to test out the innovation wheelchair (I know… don’t ask.)

On May 27, 2011, H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco and his lovely fiancée, Charlene Wittstock, attended the 6th Annual Amber Lounge Fashion Show in Monaco.  The purpose of the event is to raise money for various charities in and outside of Monaco.

The French television network, TF1, recently sat down with H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco and his fiancée, Charlene Wittstock, for a lengthy interview with the couple.

Entitled Les Confidences d’Albert & Charlene, the interview, which is in both French and English, will air on Saturday May 28, 2011, at 6:45pm on TF1.

“What is that smell (as Prince Henrik passed by)?!!??”  ”He smells fruity, no?!”  ”And, what is that rumor about H.R.H. Prince Henrik of Denmark launching his own cologne and perfume line?  Is it true?”

Well, folks those are just a few of the comments and questions being asked in Denmark these days regarding their French-born prince consort and his latest venture.  Besides being a respected poet, French winery owner, published author, hunting and killing baby animals enthusiast, Prince Henrik has decided to tackle the competitive cologne and perfume industry.  The confirmation was recently made by the royal house of Denmark’s chief communications officer, Lene Balleby.

According to Billed Bladet magazine, Prince Henrik’s new line of smelly stuff will simply be called “H”.   Two of the ingredients contained in both the cologne and perfume lines are cedar and grapefruit.

If you are interested in smelling like a prince you can purchase “H” exclusively at Prince Henrik’s winery farm in Cahors, France come this summer.
