According to the official website for the royal house of Sweden, H.R.H. Princess Madeleine is currently in San Francisco, CA visiting the company, Legal Services for Children. The princess works for the World Childhood Foundation, based out of New York City, and a company that works in conjunction with the LSC which fights for the rights of young mothers and their children.
Per the Royal Court.se:
The Princess’s visit to the Legal Services for Children was to review the LSC’s endeavor, Young Women’s Empowerment, a project that the World Childhood Foundation has supported since 2007. The YME helps young teenage mothers so that they can continue their studies while getting the opportunity to give their newborns safe nursing care.
Legal Services for Children has received the support from the World Childhood Foundation since 2004 for its work with vulnerable children. The project Immigrant Youth Initiative, works primarily with children who are orphaned and have illegal status in the United States. LSC is working with a holistic model consisting of legal, social and emotional support to children and adolescents.
Tomorrow, Princess Madeleine will partake in the Children’s Advocacy Awards Luncheon to be held at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in San Francisco. According to the LSC, the purpose of this luncheon, which is also a fundraiser, is to “…honor Pro Bono Attorneys and Law Firms who have donated their time and expertise to LSC…”
