Yesterday, April 16, 2011, Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II of Denmark celebrated her 71st birthday at Marselisborg Castle in Aarhus, Denmark.
Over 5,000 well-wishers came to the castle to wish their monarch a wonderful birthday. However, there were a few family members missing. Unlike last year’s giant birthday bruhaha (which lasted for days) and which included the entire Danish royal family, this year it was the complete opposite. None of Queen Margrethe’s children or grandchildren came to the castle to celebrate her special day. Nor were any of her sisters present. The only person by her side… H.R.H. Prince Henrik.
Anyway, Her Majesty came out onto the castle balcony to wave to all of her 5,000 well-wishers and to list to the royal band play traditional music.
