On April 9, 2011, H.R.H. Princess Benedikte of Denmark, along with Their Majesties King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden and H.R.H. Crown Princess Maxima of the Netherlands, attended the opening ceremony of Orange 2011 in The Hague, Netherlands. Whew! Long sentence… sorry.
The purpose of H.R.H. Princess Benedikte’s attendance was to support the Olave Baden-Powell Society in conjunction with the World Scout Foundation. According to the official website for the Olave Baden-Powell Society:
Orange 2011 is the joint meeting of the Olave Baden-Powell Society (OB-PS) and the World Scout Foundation (WSF) and is being organised by Scouting Netherlands in celebrations of their Centenary. Scouting Nederland is a very active association with more than 100,000 members and 25,000 volunteers. Her Royal Highness Princess Maxima, Princess of the Netherlands is Patron of Scouting Nederland.
