Countess Alexandra of Frederiksborg was out and about today for UNICEF. The countess participated in a ceremony in which the city of Randers was named UNICEF City 2011.
Together with Mayor Henning Jensen Nyhuus and UNICEF Denmark genralsekretær, Steen M. Andersen, and UNICEF patron Countess Alexandra the event took place at the Old Town Hall.
During the year students, citizens, and businesses worked together with the municipality (city) organized many activities and events designed to raise money for a children’s project in Karamoja, located in northeastern Uganda.
The project will help to have more children attend school. Only 20 percent of children living in Karamoja receive schooling, said Alexandra, who also revealed that the project will focus on children’s health and sports.
Countess Alexandra has been a patron for UNICEF since… forever, and it’s nice to see that she is still heavily involved with this great organization.
