A Royal Year: The Best of 2010

Well, the year is almost over and for many royal watchers 2010 was certainly eventful when it comes to royal activities.

With that being said, I thought I would have a countdown list entitled The Top Ten Royal Events of the Year.  Many may disagree with the list, but what ever… it’s my list… and I do what I like.  LOL.  I’m kidding.

Beginning tomorrow, Sunday December 26, I’ll list two events and/or announcements per day until December 31, 2010.

In the meantime you can look at the funny photo, again, of the awesome King Carl Gustav XVI of Sweden with bunny ears on as well as with an aluminum foil star hat.

Merry Christmas!

The Hits and Misses in Royal Fashion: A Bi-Weekly Wrap-Up

This past week and a half was kind of a slow week in terms of interesting fashion choices by various royal women.  Any way, here is a short list of the hits and misses in royal fashion.

HITS:

HM Queen Rania of Jordan.  Seriously, could this woman be anymore fierce?  Her regal blue gown is to die for.  Love it!

Crown Princess Masako of Japan.  Aw, I have a soft spot for the poor Crown Princess.  She is rarely seen in public and this recent photo of her (during the balcony event to mark the 77th birthday of Emperor Akihito of Japan), wearing a cream suit with matching hat, looks lovely on delicate Crown Princess.  You might hate the suit… but I like it.

HM Queen Sofia of Spain.  In a grey suit with delicate detail… the ensemble suits her perfectly.

Miss Catherine Middleton wearing a white and black dress by Temperley.  As a long time fan of Alice Temperley’s designs, I must say that I love this dress.  Hate the stupid blazer, though.  Unfortunately, Miss Middleton has a bizarre fetish for blazers.  She constantly wears them… all day… every day… ugh.

MISSES:

The York Sisters: Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice

I… I… just don’t where to begin with the York sisters.  Ugh.  I’m snickering to myself as I type this… because the two of them are completely hopeless.  Simply put:  They are a hot mess… and I’m saying this as delicately as I possibly can without offending you.    Look, I know they are at that age, but they should realize that they should dress not only according to their body type, but wearing dresses that almost show ones ass cheeks and vajayjays is not appropriate whatsoever!  In fact, it’s downright disgusting!!

Princess Beatrice doesn’t look that bad.  BUT, the outfit — on a whole — is completely wrong for her.  Sorry.

Princess Madeleine of Sweden.  Honestly, I’m on the fence regarding this gown.  I don’t know, there is something off about this ensemble.  Perhaps it’s the color.

The British Royal Family Attend Christmas Day Church Service

On December 25, 2010, the British royal family attended Christmas Day Mass at St. Mary Magdalene Church near their massive home, Sandringham, in Norfolk this morning.

It was freaking cold, according to the weather reports, but despite the temperature several members of the British royal family walked to church.  However,  HM Queen Elizabeth II did not (smart woman.  I wouldn’t walk either.)

Any way, after the service the Queen, looking sweet in a fur hat, black boots and coat, smiled as she exited the church with her husband, Prince Phillip and family.

Also in attendance was Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla of Cornwall, Prince Harry, The Wessexes, Prince Andrew and his daughters Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie (looking like a complete hot messes… but what else is new.  They both are completely and utterly hopeless in every way possible.)

Absent this year, were Princess Anne and her family along with Prince William who was working in Wales (he was on duty for the RAF rescue team.)  Meanwhile, as dramatic as it sounds, Miss Catherine Middleton spent her last Christmas as a commoner with her family in Berkshire.  Aw, how touching.
