Crown Princess Mary of Denmark, her Twins, and Up Coming Official Events with the Danish royal family

With a month away from giving birth to her twins, Denmark’s Crown Princess Mary will be off the royal radar for a while.    Which is a good thing, but don’t fret dear royal watchers because this hard working Danish princess will be back sooner then you think.

I should say that we may catch a glimpse or two of Princess Mary during her time off, specifically Christmas, but as far as official duties… nada.  I believe she has started her rest period in preparation for the upcoming birth of her twins.   I wish her well and loads of rest! :)

Now, according to the official calendar on the Royal House of Denmark’s official website here is what we can look forward to in the up coming weeks:

From November 28 through December 2, 2010 Crown Prince Frederik will be regent.  Meaning he’s the head cheese for a few days.

On December 1, Frederik will attend a dinner to honor to Danish Royal Navy’s 500th Anniversary in Copenhagen.  The next day he will have dinner at the British Embassy in honor as well as preparation for the 2012 Olympics in London.

Prince Joachim, Fred’s younger brother, will be regent from December 3-5.

Queen Margrethe will attend the 150th anniversary of the Nordic Museum in Odense.

Finally, from December 12-13, Crown Prince Frederik will fly to Dubai (lucky bastard), to attend the MENA Diabetes Leadership event.

So there you have it my friends!  You are now officially up-to-date with the Danish royal calendar of events!

Tak!

Princess Martha Louise of Norway talking to angels again and promoting her new book

Yup, you heard me correctly.  Princess Martha Louise of Norway talks to angels… as in those pretty things in heaven who have wings on their backs and protects us from bad stuff.

The alternative royal, as some call her, was in Germany yesterday to promote her new book Meet Your Guardian Angel.  The odd yet extremely lovable princess also made an appearance on a German talk show to discuss — what else — her book.

Now, I have to tell you that I love this woman.  Not only is she funny, and let’s face it she’s the Shirley Maclaine of royals,  but she also has a heart of gold.  Like her brother, Crown Prince Haakon of Norway (he’s freaking HOT by the way),  Martha Louise is a progressive royal.  She doesn’t believe in the stuffy trappings of royal life nor does she put on airs as if she were better than other people.  Nope.  This modern princess is a regular gal who works like the rest of us.   Martha Louise is incredibly strong-willed, fiercely independent, and lives a normal life with her husband, Ari Behn (who also happens to be a cross dresser.  No, it’s true. Really it is.)

Hopefully, we will hear more about Martha Louise in the future!

Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark attends the Voices of Vollsmose concert in Odense.

HRH Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark attended a lovely concert this evening in Odense.  Entitled The Voices of Vollomose the heir to the Danish throne seemed animated when he chatted with several attendees as well as relaxed – very relaxed – when he spoke to a reporter from TVFyn.dk.

Watch Frederik speak! Yay!

His wife, Crown Princess Mary, did not attend the gala event.  She was at home resting and I am sure preparing for the upcoming birth of her twins (Mary is due sometime in early January though many believe that she may give birth around Christmas time).

Prince Albert and Charlene Wittstock attend a soccer match this afternoon.

Sounds exciting, right?  Well, I guess it depends on the individual.

Apparently, Charlene didn’t look too thrilled to watch the match between Monaco and Nice on November 27, 2010.  The bride-to-be looked sullen and bored out of her mind.  Or, perhaps she wasn’t.  I mean, she does have a lot on her plate these days; for example a major princely wedding to prepare for.

The former South African swimmer is currently in “princess training” meaning she is being taught the ins and outs of palace life as well as proper etiquette according to various Monaco insiders.

Nevertheless, I am looking forward to this princely wedding.  It could be the most beautiful wedding since June 19, 2010 when Crown Princess Victoria married Daniel Westling in Stockholm.  Or it can be a complete and utter disaster… a total trashtastic bruhaha.

Only time will tell…
